Sizes are based on average kid’s sizes. The 'length' for boys refers to the size of the pant from top to bottom (waist to feet). The size of the girls' dresses is usually close to the length but is not consistent, hence the age equivalents are provided.  It’s always best to choose a little larger size than what is anticipated to fit exactly:

In shalwar kameez, normally what limits size is the bust or sometimes the shoulder if you have broad shoulders. Rarely, does the hip or waist cause any fitting issues. However, a large bust size in our sections for average women may mean that the dress is still designed with the petite woman in mind. Our 'big tall' section is designed to be more loose and to fit larger women. Pertinent to note that Asian women are normally smaller in structure than their Western counterparts. Sometimes, some women will prefer to wear a dress that is 2-4” larger than actual bust size but this is purely a matter of choice.

The shalwar is latched either with an elastic or a ‘kamar-band’ or a cotton cord that goes through a hole in the waist section of the shalwar. The elastic/string is normally not supplied and can be easily found at the local Wal-mart or other fabric store. Either way allows plenty of flexibility so waist is normally not an issue. Finally, ladies’ height can come into play with the shalwar’s (pant's) length. Please refer to the chart below. Again, some women will wear the shalwar high or low but the chart refers to placing it around the stomach. Always, send us an email by clicking here help@reems.com when in doubt. Example:

Measure at the fullest part of the bust. Please note, this is not the same as your bra size. If you wear a 34C bra, this does not mean that you have a 34" bust.  Assume that your bust size is 42", then you can choose Reems Size L for very tight fit.  Size L suit measures 44" around bust.  If you want more 'space' or 'regular' fit, choose XL, which is 48" around, giving 6" more over your actual bust size OR 3" on each side.  Always go for the next size up if unsure.  Salwar kameez are very forgiving if loose but uncomfortable when small.  If your height is 5' 8" or less, normally shalwar (pants) is not of concern. If it is taller, refer to table below.  Also Check to see if the shoulders aren't too small either.

Where there is a size exception, a note will be made within the descriptions. Equivalent sizing is provided to help you in your determination.

Islamic Clothing (Jilbaab) Sizing
Normally, the width of the jilbaab is not of issue especially with the buttonless ones. They pretty much accommodate all sizes. If you feel this may be of concern, be sure to e-mail us.

Example: If you are 5' 6", then the M jilbaab would be an exact fit for you i.e. its length would just below your ankle. Some women may consider the next size in this case, so they have a few inches to 'drag' or cover their feet as well. 
 

Men's sizes are normally flexible enough to accommodate all ‘shapes and sizes’. Length of shalwar may be limiting and it would be wise to refer to the chart below that approximates what height will fit what suit. Waist is normally a non-issue since both the shirt and pajama are large enough and the ‘kamar-band’ or belt (that loops through a hole in the shalwar) will take all sizes. The elastic/string is normally not supplied and can be easily found at the local Wal-mart or other fabric store.
